Interventional Radiology Observership/Fellowship Program

Purpose and Content of the Program:

- Interventional Radiology Observership/Fellowship Program is suitable for all doctors interested in this field. The aim of this program is to advance participants' abilities in understanding, diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases of various systems.

- The program includes inpatient and outpatient rotations as well as practical studies and theoretical training.

- Fellows will have the opportunity to work directly with physicians in sub-specialty clinics and multidisciplinary university hospitals.

- Interventional Radiology training content includes;

• Solid organ biopsies i.e., liver, pancreas, lung, thyroid, kidney, and other biopsies.
• Drainage techniques like abscesses of deep tissues
• Biliary and vascular interventions like
  • Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography
  • Percutaneous cholecystostomy
  • Radiofrequency ablation in bile duct tumors
• Pre-and post-procedure management
• Manage occlusive vascular diseases
• Embolization procedures of tumors 
• Gastrostomy tubes
• Intravascular ultrasound
• Foreign body removal
• Needle biopsy
• IVC filters
• Injection of clot-dissolving medicines
• Catheters insertions
